Most clubs on this page belong to the Asociación de Clubes de Ajedrez de la Ciudad de México, known as Acadfac, whose public roster names each club and its president but prints no address, timetable or date. Where a club has organised tournaments recently, its card leans on those records: the official clubs of Coyoacán, Gustavo A. Madero, Cuauhtémoc and Álvaro Obregón, Club Iztacalco, independent clubs such as Jaque Descubierto, Ajedrez Salida, Lubuntu and Reyes de Oro y Leones, and the club of the Comité Olímpico Mexicano in Lomas de Sotelo.
For a good share of the list the roster is all there is, and those clubs stay marked as unconfirmed until a dated event or a meeting place turns up. Beyond the city limits, the State of Mexico has the university clubs of FES Acatlán in Naucalpan and Anáhuac in Huixquilucan, LudiChess in a shopping centre in Interlomas, Chess Maniacs in Tecámac and the Punto de Encuentro school and club in Valle de Chalco. Club rooms and hours are rarely printed, so write to a club before a first visit.
